Xingping Town
Xingping is the oldest town in Yangshuo, situated on the bank of Li River. There are many buildings in Xingping that date back to the Qing and Ming dynasties, which has the potential to be the next backpacker haven as Yangshuo keeps growing fast. Xingping Town was set up in 265, three Kingdoms(220-280 A.D.), and used to be Xiping County. It was the center of Yangshuo County until Yangshuo Town was setup in 590. It has been the most important town beside the Li River for over 1700 years. On market days the town burgeons with locals from surrounding villages who set up stands to sell all kinds of agricultural products. The scenery around Xingping is spectacular and you can take a stroll out of town on a nice path which crosses a branch of the Li River and takes you onto a local road that follows the river. Also, there are many stunning views just nearby: Nine-horse Mural Cliff, Yellow-cloth Reflection, Monk and Nun's Tryst, Ancient Stockaded Village's New Looks, Secluded Qianyuan, Ancient Wusheng Site, Fishing Village, Lotus-flower Cave, Flying-dragon Nunnery etc.
