Nanning (Chinese: 南宁; pinyin: Nánníng) is located in the southern part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, 456 km from Yangshuo County, 392 km from Guilin City, 160 km from the border with Vietnam. Nanning is also neighbor to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, close to Hong Kong and Macau. As the capital of Guangxi autonomous region,Nanning is known as the "Green City". Nanning was once the territory of the Baiyue people and became the capital of Jinxing Prefecture separated from Yulin Prefecture of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.Nanning was famous for trade in history, and had permanent business offices from other areas in China since the Song Dynasty.

Naning is a warm humid subtropical climate with climate endows the city with evergreen trees and fragrant flowers all year round, hence the name Green City, it is often windy or breezy and very rainy in the city. In such a beautiful land, more than 30 ethnic minority groups have been living harmoniously for 1,680 years. Zhuang is the largest minority group of China. Nanning has a lot of attractions to see, the major tourist attractions: Minorities Cultural Relics Center, Qingxiu Mountains Landscape (a park at provincial level), grand De Tian Waterfall, beautiful Mt. Qingxiu and Mt. Daming, The Beiqiu ruins of Dingshishan Mountain (one of 1997's 10 Greatest Archaeological Discoveries in China.), quiet Yangmei Ancient Town, mysterious Huashan Mural as well as scattered parks and gardens. Also, five main bus stations go to Yangshuo Guilin and other provincial counties and cities, and public buses and taxies are plentiful and inexpensive.
