Li River Cruise between Yangshuo & Guilin
Li River offers stunning views of the karst formations and landscape in the world. The whole trip from Guilin to Yangshuo will take 4-5 hours, and get through 83km. But the best section is from Yangdi Village to Yangshuo wharf, which offers the best views. If you are short of time, cruising the best section is an ideal option to see as much as possible of the Li River.
Cruise is regarded as the best way to enjoy the spectacular views along the Li River. There are several ways for you to choose.
The official boats. These leave from a wharf in Yangshuo at 1:00 PM every day, and get off at Yangdi wharf at 5:00 PM, which will cruise the best section between Li river. But this cruise has become relatively expensive (tickets are sold between 300 RMB – 550 RMB per person). It is a nice trip but be aware that daily hundreds of tour boats sail down the Li River, one after another and back the very same day. This tour can not be done up river from Yangshuo to Guilin as the boats cannot navigate up stream with people on board.
The small farmer's boats. These are not allowed to take tourists by government , so they may be stopped at any time. You have several options on these boats.
①Strart from Xingping. Normally these boats take you from Xingping and almost up to Nine Hourses Mural Cliff, and then back to Xingping. The trip takes around an hour.
②Yangdi to Xingping. If you get up really early or do it late in the afternoon, you can take a taxi to Yangdi, and cruise down to Xingping. This trip takes 70 mins to Xingping and another hour to Yangshuo by local bus.
③Yangshuo to Fuli. This trip is nice because very few boats travel this section. The trip will takes about 30 minutes. Taking one small bamboo boats to cruise Li River could enjoy more fun than the big official boat.
